Magic is real~

Doula Support of woman in another woman's arms

Practical and Holistic

I offer a practical and holistic approach to honour this transitional time.

The journey of learning has brought me to intimately know many ways of being with the process of birth, postpartum, the full transition.

I offer Pregnancy Massage, Postpartum Massage and Doula Support

I deeply enjoy this mother care work and support. It could have begun when I was 9 years old at my brothers birth and been fuelled further by my social activist beliefs which comes with the understanding that “peace on earth begins with birth” (Jeanine Pavarti Baker). I am fortunate to have many incredible teachers and have studied at Da A Luz holistic Midwifery school in Alpujarras, Spain.

  • Maya has been my dream doula! We both had a dream of my birth before it happened. And it happened just like the dreams. Peaceful, undisturbed and smooth. She arrived when my surges were so intense. Her voice and gentle touch on my shoulder calmed and grounded me.

After birth she was very caring and checking on me, baby and playing with my 2 girls. She even took them to the park. She did more than I could ever ask.

  • Maya came to me when I was four weeks in my postpartum. I was crying in my partners arms when she was carefully entering the space, offering just to hold me as well. After my hormonal rollercoaster and myself calmed down she gave me an intuitive shiatsu massage. I felt very held by her presence, calmness and softness. Her touch was firm enough to completely let go and surrender and soft enough to feel nurtured and caressed. Time passed way too quickly.

I acknowledge and respect the ancestral lands of the Yuin Peoples where I live and practice. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and future and acknowledge the birthing and health knowledge which indigenous people have carried since time immemorial. I support the continuation of this knowledge, Birthing on Country and appropriate safe maternity care for First Nations families. I acknowledge sandstone country and the lands of the Gaimariagal, Guringai and Darug peoples which I grew on as a young child.
